John FriedeJohn Friede ============================================================= John Friede Executive Director, Worldview, Ltd.; Chair, New Hampshire Faithful Democracy 4 Oak St., Peterborough, NH 03458 USA ph: (603) 924-9750 John Friede Peterborough NH Worldview, Ltd., a Peterborough-based nonprofit organization, focuses on issues related to increasing local self-reliance, maintains a lending library and produces educational events. NH Faithful Democracy works statewide to strengthen social justice advocacy efforts and networks. Important issues for me include: civil liberties, energy, trade, corporate power, fair elections, a comprehensive national security policy that deters terrorism while exporting our highest values, education, affordable housing, health care and the environment. I am a Peterborough resident. I direct a nonprofit, Worldview, Ltd., that I founded in 1991. Worldview’s educational projects link environmental, economic and social justice issues. These projects include resources such as the Worldview Library, also located in Peterborough, and an ongoing series of community education events that address issues of concern. Our remaining events this summer are on August 4th -- The Impact of Federal Budget Choices and Tax Policies on New Hampshire -- in Peterborough, and Sept. 1st, an educational forum on the USA Patriot Act and related measures in Milford. I serve as Social Justice Chair for the Peterborough Unitarian Church and as the Chair of the NH UU Social Responsibility Department. I serve on the Advisory Board for Keene-based Monadnock Freedom Forum. In 2003, I helped lead the local effort for Peterborough to adopt a resolution in defense of civil liberties at Town Meeting. |
