So, yesterday was the big day and the snow held off, making it easy to get to Manchester to pick the Dodd-dedicated delegates to the Democratic National Convention. Presumably, the same was true of Concord, where the second District contingent met.

Calling All Guests
Unless you're a little obsessive, you probably don't scroll down the left side of the main page to check how many users and how many guests are online at any one time. So, you probably haven't noticed that the normal ratio has gone from about one "user" (a registered poster) to 30 or so guests to one user per over a thousand. (As I write, there are 1167 guests online). And all that with what can only be described as rather lackadaisical content.
Which prompts me to suggest not only that we need more and fresher content on this site, but that our content needs to be addressed to this multitude of guests. Even if we don't know exactly what they are looking for, every visit seems like a golden opportunity to some action that will aid our cause. GETTING OUT THE VOTE--18 DAYS
Every Democratic vote in the primary is almost certain to turn out in November as well. So, a big turnout on September 12 will make a success in November that much more certain.
So, please, call at least ten of your acquaintances (presumably you already know where your family's and your friends' interest lie) and remind them to vote for our Democratic candidates in the primary on September 12. Keep in mind that now is the time to let the country know that New Hampshire is turning from purple to blue and we're going to turn both Congress and our State Legislature around from trying to rule the people to following the rule of law. As Justice Kennedy has said, corruption doesn't just show up as bribery and graft; corruption is evident when the government doesn't respond to the will of the people. Was the 2004 "smoking gun" buried in NH?
Why is the Republican National Committee still paying ninja DC lawyers to defend James Tobin, now that he's been convicted for his role in the NH phone-jamming scandal? Is Tobin repaying them by keeping quiet? Was there some dark secret that needs to be kept quiet, something Tobin knew about when he headed the Bush Cheney 2004 campaign for all of New England?
Mark Karlin raised these question. It didn't take much digging to find one obvious candidate for a smoking gun that Tobin might know about.

ARNIE : Operation Blessing blesses its sponsor
The following is from Arnie Arnesen:
I was calling my Congressmen when I saw the FEMA Website Monday. I knew Robertson did not deserve support. I had no idea he was so disgusting. I cried when I read this. Ciao...Arnie Disaster Used as Political Payoff The New York Daily News Tuesday 06 September 2005 The Federal Emergency Management Agency has done it again. Already under fire for its woeful response to Hurricane Katrina, the federal disaster agency appears to have turned hurricane relief donations into a political payoff - until it was challenged. All last week, FEMA bureaucrats gave prominent placement on the agency's Web site to Operation Blessing, the Virginia-based charity run by controversial right-wing evangelist and Christian Coalition founder Pat Robertson. For anyone wishing to donate only cash, the agency's site listed the names and phone numbers of three groups: the Red Cross, Operation Blessing and America's Second Harvest, a national coalition of food banks. Election results from the Upper Valley
DFNH members in the Upper Valley played a significant role in the Get Out the Vote operations in the Upper Valley, including Lyme and Lebanon, which were organized using the model from the Dean campaign. In addition to delivering a large vote for Senator Kerry, the Upper Valley turned out in large numbers for John Lynch, one of the DFNH Dozen and the next governor of New Hampshire. Peter Burling was elected to the State Senate handily along with Democrats coming to the New Hampshire House from Lebanon (all four), Lyme and Hanover (all four), Canaan (2 of 3), and New London (1 of 2). These are impressive gains in our area, and we look forward to further expanding on them.
In general, I am excited about the role that Dean supporters have played in this election cycle in New Hampshire. We have made a real difference - and will certainly continue doing so through Democracy for New Hampshire.
