Gregg, the attention hog

I don't, typically, hog the front page with blog posts. However, Gregg prompts me to make an exception and use the tools that will provide exposure of his posturing for the longest period of time.

Greenwald. He made several visits to Afghanistan and interviewed many
Afghan civilians as well as US and Afghan political leaders and foreign
policy experts. "Rethink Afghanistan" raises critical questions about

Wall Street Explained

If our Democracy worked as it should, then artificial persons (corporations such as banks) which violate their charter would be dissolved, not allowed to declare bankruptcy and start over.

Robin Hood Tax

Also known as a transaction tax, it's something economists are being asked to endorse.

My mistake.

For the longest time, I was sure conservatives were intent on creating the nanny state. I was wrong. Somehow I missed that the yearning has been for Papa all along. Perhaps my eyes were opened by the newly elected Senator Scott Brown, whose life's ambition is to prove he can be a better father than his dad and, presumably, his step dad.

"No End in Sight"

I think it's because there's an inability to anticipate what is going to happen next. And that's probably a consequence of an inability to track the sequence of events with any accuracy. It's as if information is randomized, like shuffling a deck of cards, BEFORE being stored in memory. Knowing what comes next is never identified. So, remembering the past is no help, if one wants to prevent making the same mistakes again.

Obama directs $600M to health centers, med records

By PHILIP ELLIOTT, Associated Press Writer Philip Elliott, Associated Press Writer – Wed Dec 9, 1:46 pm ET

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama announced on Wednesday the government is spending almost $600 million for community health centers and for a push to transfer medical records to electronic formats.

The White House painted the spending — part of the $787 billion stimulus bill the president championed during his first days in office — as a way to add jobs to a struggling economy. Officials also linked it to the administration's broader push for an overhaul of the nation's health system.

New Childish Republican Obstruction Tactic: Refusing To Use Their Assigned Cards In Order To Delay Votes

In September, the Orlando Sentinel reported that Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) had noticed Republicans House lawmakers intentionally forgetting or losing their voting cards in order to delay votes. Starting late in the summer, Grayson said he saw 60-70 GOP congressmen engaging in this tactic:

GRAYSON: They’d all walk to the front of the House and, laughingly and jokingly, put their arms around each other’s shoulder like it was some kind of clownish fun. And they did this over and over to make sure every vote took half an hour. That’s how low things have gotten. I could give you countless examples just like that. They’re simply obstructionists and there’s nothing you can do about it.
