Democratic Policies Promote High CO2 emissions

It is the Democratic Party that is responsible for savaging the World’s climate with high CO2 emissions, not Republicans. Yes, you heard that correctly.
First of all, through its longstanding and continuing opposition to nuclear power, the Democratic Party has forced and will continue to force this country to rely on coal and oil for much of its energy needs for the foreseeable future. Nuclear power is safe and emits next to nothing in terms of greenhouse emissions, but your Democratic Party will have none of it. And anyone who thinks Barack Obama and the current cast in your Democratic Congress will build nuclear power plants is dreaming.
Secondly, the Democratic Party is also responsible for high CO2 emissions because its anti business policies have driven more businesses overseas to China and India(where the businesses can pollute the environment as they wish). Your Democratic Party seems to have forgotten that, as far as the greenhouse effect is concerned, the world’s environment is not helped simply by moving polluters from one spot to the next.

Obama Energy Policy Prescription for Disaster

The Democratic Party has routinely and historically railed against nuclear power, more oil drilling, and coal plants. Obama says he “favors nuclear power”(even though he said a year ago he doesn’t favor nuclear power), “more drilling”(even though he said we can save just as much energy from inflating our tires as we can from drilling for more oil) and “clean coal”(even though his running mate Biden shouted emphatically at an individual recently at a campaign rally that he and Obama will not build any “clean coal” plants).
Are we really dumb enough to believe this cast of characters will seriously bring about “energy independence” for this country

Democrats Caused Wall Street Crisis

You can thank your Democratic Party for the current financial crisis.
The Democratic Party(through Democratic dominated organizations such as ACORN, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac and Democratic inspired laws such as the Community Reinvestment Act) intimidated banks into lending money to poor minorities and whites who could not possibly pay the money back.
The resulting bad loans were packaged into mortgage securities which(since they were based on fraudulent loans) had no significant value.
It is no accident Obama and Dodd are the top two recipients of Fannie Mae campaign contributions and that Obama chose Jim Johnson(former Fannie Mae executive) to select his vice presidential nominee. It is no accident Obama represented ACORN and that he and Ayers donated to ACORN while they were on boards together. It is no accident Democrats such as Frank, Dodd, Reid, Pelosi and Obama did not join John McCain when John McCain called for reform of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in 2005. It is no accident Democrats like Obama, Dodd, Reid, Pelosi, and Frank resisted President Bush’s calls for reform of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Don’t buy Obama’s demagogic claim Bush “deregulation” caused the current crisis! There was little financial “deregulation” under Bush and Gramm Leach Bliley(1999) was not only under Clinton but, by its breaking down of barriers between commercial and investment banks, has helped to alleviate the current crisis by facilitating recent mergers between commercial and investment banks. The media and Obama can cover up the above truths but the above truths can not legitimately be denied. The current crisis is directly traceable to your Democratic Party

Put Al Gore on the New Hampshire Primary Ballot

New Hampshire Gore Supporters Organizing Write-in Vote

Littleton, New Hampshire (December 13, 2007) -- After months of speculation, Al Gore will be on the presidential ballot in the nation's first primary.

A dedicated group of New Hampshire voters is organizing a grass roots campaign to write Gore's name on the official ballot on Primary Day, January 8, five days after the Iowa caucus.

"A vote for Al Gore in the New Hampshire Primary is a vote for aggressive leadership to stem global warming," says Farrell S. Seiler, Write-In coordinator of the non-partisan group, Draft Gore New Hampshire. (http://www.DraftGoreNH.com)

The world leaders gathering this week in Bali are looking to the Nobel laureate--not the Bush administration--for bold American leadership on global warming.

"But not one of the Republican or Democratic candidates actively campaigning in New Hampshire is seriously addressing the gravity of climate change and global warming," says Seiler, who is also chairman of the New Hampshire Wind Energy Association.

Lucy Edwards 29.SEP.07

Dr. Jay Buckey, former astronaut, professor at Dartmouth Medical School and candidate for the US Senate in 2008, paid his first visit to the local area Saturday Sept. 22nd, appearing at a house party at the home of Ben and Lucy Edwards in Northwood. Dr. Buckey introduced himself by telling about his education in public schools in Levittown, NY on Long Island, which was the first planned suburban community, and provided housing for many WWII veterans of whom Dr.Buckey’s father was one. The elder Buckey served as a paratrooper. Dr. Buckey’s grandfather had been a military chaplain in WWI. Dr. Buckey served for 8 years as a major in the Air Force Reserve.

Thanks From Draft Shaheen Committee!

Hello, DFNH readers!
I just wanted to post a note to thank all of you who signed our Draft Shaheen petition. We had nearly 1300 people sign up over the summer, and as a result of your grass roots support, former Governor Jeanne Shaheen has announced that she is running for the United States Senate! Over the coming weks and months, she will be reaching out to people across the state to talk about her message of bringing change to Washington! The Republicans are worried - they are already attacking her! But no matter how many phones they may try to jam in 2008, John Sununu will be a one term senator!
Thank you again for all your help!

Sullivan Running For Alderman

Peter Sullivan announced today that he will be a candidate for the Manchester Board of Alderman in this fall's municipal elections. Sullivan will seek the seat from Ward 3, which includes downtown and the millyard.

"Manchester city politics is ready for change. It's time for new voices, new ideas, and a committment to open and accountable government. That's why I've decided to run for alderman", said Sullivan.

"By tapping the talents and ideas of all of Manchester's residents, we can bring new voices to civic life. The era of political cliques and secret back room meetings must come to an end.

"By working together, we can craft a budget that ends the abuse of Manchester's taxpayers while meeting the needs of our residents.

"We can make our neighborhoods safe by putting more cops on the street, by cracking down on unresponsive slum lords, and by taking a tough, no-nonsense stand against the small number of irresponsible businesses whose actions threaten our community.

Union Leader story

Quote:

Allison Scamman, whose sister is an Army first lieutenant serving in Iraq, said Shea-Porter called her Tuesday and spoke for at least 20 minutes.

"It was not a positive call," Scamman said. "I felt that it was a phone call to intimidate me, to stop my freedom of speech."

A second woman, Gail Giarrusso, said she received a call from the congresswoman on Jan. 29, the same day she sent an e-mail taking issue with a Shea-Porter staffer who called her to complain about her critical letter that appeared in the Portsmouth Herald.

Shea-Porter confirmed to the New Hampshire Sunday News that she had talked with the two women, but said she and her staff weren't trying to intimidate anyone.

Women in Leadership

As I analyzed the election results for the DFNH-endorsed candidates, I noticed something interesting...

35 of 50 candidates won their elections. Of those 35, 20 are women.

I am currently the only female on a 9-body City Council in Lebanon, and I know that this kind of ratio is the rule rather than the exception. I am proud that DFNH is an organization that supports women in leadership.

The Money Pit facing Democratic Political Investors

Regardless of how well Democrat candidates fare in the November 2006 elections – and as of this writing, the odds look good – a daunting prospect await them and their contributors on November 8th, the day after the votes are cast. Within a few months of Election Day 2006, regardless of well Democratic candidates do at the polls, an investment in excess of One Billion Dollars will be largely lost.

To appreciate this problem, it is first important to understand the dominant rationale for political contributors, why they do not often think in terms of Return on Investment (ROI), and why, whatever investment they make, it may evaporate within three months of Election Day 2006, regardless of the outcome of the election.

A Journey Ends

Dear friends,

It is with a considerable degree of regret that I have decided to end my campaign for United States Congress.

When I began this political journey, I made it a point to run a campaign based on the notion that ideas and ideals still matter. I still believe that the people of New Hampshire are hungry for a new brand of leadership, one that places principles and creative solutions ahead of the stale old political inside baseball.

Why Lynch?

Editor's note: DFNH is a nonpartisan organization. The references to Party affiliation belong to the author of this posting.

Greetings,

Since the state of the state address I have been giving much thought to the idea of John Lynch being the Governor from our party. When I look back at the last year of John Lynch's term I do not see a Democrat that is ideologically in line with our views of social justice, I see someone who has cast aside the Democratic agenda to ensure victory.

Recently the Republican Senate President leader Ted Gatsas basically said to John DiStaso of The Union Leader, why propose our own agenda when John Lynch has taken it up for us? The Lynch agenda is the Republican agenda.

Some may disagree pointing to small postulations such as LCHIP, but in the scheme of things thats small.

Lets look at the facts. John Lynch opposes an income tax. John Lynch has cut $400 million in education funding, John Lynch has done little to make corporations pay their fair share for health care.

Let the People Decide

I am now officially fed up.

Many of you know that I am a candidate for US Congress in New Hampshire's 1st congressional district (Jeb Bradley's seat). I have been out in the communities, listening to people, talking about the issues, and trying to set out a message grounded in hope, opportunity, and a spirit of reform. I have been talking about the need to invest in education and job skills training, about the need to spur research and development that creates jobs, about the need for a health care system that covers every American family, about the need for a foreign policy that not only keeps us secure but which reflects the basic decency of the American people.

Sounds good, right?

Not according to our friends at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

The DCCC has spent the last several months trying to coax a "more established" candidate into the race, namely Manchester Mayor Bob Baines.

Well, the DCCC plan went up in smoke when Baines, once a prohibitive favorite, lost his seat in Tuesday's municipal election.

Democrats please explain

There is quite a bit I need clarification on regarding the candidate John Kerry. I have watched all the speeches and appearances, listened to everyone's side, and I am becoming concerned about some of the things which appear to be between the lines. The following is in reference to the various things I have heard while following John Kerry

Government spending - I am hearing there will be increased spending in military, government run healthcare plan for all uninsured, higher education spending. All this without having to raise taxes for the middle class. The total of these various plans would be in the trillions of dollars an I don't believe there will be no increse to my taxes, or the taxes I pay on specific items as a way to recoup the money needed for big government plans.

Jobs - I have heard Kerry indicate he is against outsourcing, blaming Bush for all the jobs shipped overseas. I have also heard reports the Heinz Corporation outsources about 75% of it's workforce. How many jobs does that total for the American population, and why hasn't he spoken on this topic before the public starts to question him.

GOOD NEWS FOR PATRIOTIC AMERICAN CITIZENS
AND THE WORLD COMMUNITY!!

EMERGENCY MEASURES TO PROTECT THE 2004 VOTE COUNT - EM2004 AND THE FEDERAL PAPER BALLOT EMERGENCY ACT OF 2004 ARE HERE!

To those paying careful attention, the mounting problems in our American elections are epidemic and in clear evidence all across America. Democracy in America and overseas is at serious risk, and a critical election in America is just weeks away.

The GOOD news is that we have developed a doable, cost-effective, simple solution to meet the immediate need, and that the EMERGENCY MEASURES TO PROTECT THE 2004 VOTE COUNT - EM2004 solution - with a bit of classic American teamwork and ingenuity - is universally implementable within the short time left before the election.

Nadeau supports Bush tax debacle!!!

One thing democrats of almost every sort can agree on is that the Bush tax cuts were an irresponsible folly which ratcheted up our grandkid's debt while doing nothing to help the economy.

But then there's Justin Nadeau. Look at what he had to say on NHPR:

But Justin Nadeau crosses party lines when he talks about his position on President Bush's tax cuts.

"First of all one things I said recently when asked about George Bush, President Bush. I said I like that he cuts taxes. I'm a tax cutter myself. I've been fighting against the property tax in the seacoast right now. My father, brother and I have been litigating that. I like the fact that George W. Bush has cut taxes. I do believe that the middle class is the class that needs the bulk of the tax cuts.

But Nadeau has a very broad idea of what constitutes the middle class.

Unlike the party's Presidential candidate, John Kerry, Nadeau doesn't want to limit the tax cuts to families making less than 200,000 dollars a year.

The DFNH Dozen

At a DFNH organizing meeting in Concord we agreed to define a "DFNH Dozen"—twelve or so candidates for state and local offices that DFNH will support in the current election cycle. You can nominate and discuss candidates for the DFNH Dozen on our Web site.

The deadline for nominations is 12:01 AM on Wednesday, July 28, 2004. The DFNH Board of Directors and Coordinators Council will meet Sunday, August 15, 2004 to interview candidates. The DFNH Dozen will be announced at our kick-off event in late August.

Nominate and discuss candidates for the DFNH Dozen by posting comments here.

Presidential alternatives

While Senator John Kerry is the presumptive nominee of the Democratic party at this point in time, I think it would be better to state our goal, for example on the preference poll, in terms of electing a Democratic President. A lot can change between now and November. What will be the Democratic strategy, if the GOP decides to go for a new candidate at their Convention in August? Since such a candidate would have the benefit of less media scrutiny, wouldn't it make a difference who's on the Democratic ticket? How do we pick the best candidates on the presidential ticket?

Let's Work on Our Candidate Checklist

We will support candidates or policies when:

• They are based on the premise of a government of the people, by the people and for the people.
• They respect the greatness of the principles embodied in the Bill of Rights and the Constitution of the United States of America and strive without prejudice to uphold and build on the legacy of these founding documents of our democracy.
• They proactively embrace and represent the diversity of community that is the heart and soul of our great nation.
• They reflect truth, honesty and candor with respect to issues whenever possible.
• They work against the influence and agenda of the far right wing and their radical, divisive policies, and the special interests that dominate politics. Read more...
• They are committed to securing health care for all; investment in children; equal rights under the law; fiscal responsibility; environmental protection; and a national security policy that makes America stronger by advancing prog
