Planning to Protect the Count in NH tomorrow?

Protect the Count action means you go to the polls as they are closing, and you film the closing of the polls and the polling place election results. This way, we have first hand data of the election results before the central tabulation, which is done Wednesday morning at the Secretary of State's office.

Some teams will also be going on Wednesday to film the central tabulation.

If you want to help, contact the PTC-NH organizers at protectthecount@gmail.com
Citizens' Election Verification Poll (EVP)

SOURCE: Election Defense Alliance
Election Verification Poll

Election Defense Alliance, Election Integrity and The Warren Poll are organizing an Election Verification Polling (EVP) project as a safeguard for the November 2008 presidential election -- and we're calling on you to help. Exit polling provides an independent check on "official results" reported by suspect computerized voting systems.

Citizens applying professionally managed, scientifically designed polling methodology will conduct exit poll voter surveys in strategically selected locations, presenting brief survey forms to voters exiting their polling places on Election Day (Tuesday, November 4th) 2008. The voters' anonymous responses reporting how they have cast their votes will be processed and analyzed in real time.

Unlike the national exit poll conducted by a private consortium of newsmedia corporations, who withhold their raw polling data and heavily "adjust" their results to match the reported election results (!), this Citizens' Exit Poll will fully disclose the data so there can be no doubt about the truth of the numbers and what they reveal about the purported truth of the official election results -- and, for that matter, the purported truth of the corporate newsmedia exit poll.

Sgambati asks for Neighbor Helping Neighbor community action

Dear Constituents,

On October 18th, I will be hosting a "Neighbor Helping Neighbor" event with other concerned members of the community. A Yard Sale, Silent Auction, Bone Marrow Drive and Bake Sale will be held at the Opechee Park House at 867 North Main in Laconia Street, across from Central Fire Station from 8:30am to 2:30pm this Saturday.

The event is being sponsored in a response to the concerns expressed by our communities about shortages in the food pantries and the heating emergencies that could occur, given the cost of fuel this winter. This community wide event will, in a small way, begin to help fill local pantries. Funds raised will be donated to the fuel assistance programs to provide for emergency needs.

We are also pleased that we will be joined by Giovanni’s dad so you can learn more about becoming a bone marrow donor to help Giovanni’s friends. I am sure that many have followed the story of young Giovanni Guglielmo who needed a transplant. While Giovanni has found a donor, his family continues to work to help others in need.

Sunshine Foundation: Update to Public Markup Bailout Bill

Democracy for New Hampshire,

Thanks for pointing to Public Markup for the draft legislation. I wanted to inform you that we just put the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act up on Public MarkUp(http://publicmarkup.org/bill/emergency-economic-stabilization-act-2008/). We are also asking people to sign a petition to ask lawmakers to not vote on the bill for 72 hours so that Congress can actually READ THE BILL.

We need to require better lawmaking from our representatives. They can't rush this important legislation through without reading it.

Please sign the petition and thanks so much for your support.
Bernie Sanders (I-VT): Help me oppose the Bush bailout

FINANCIAL CRISIS

I need your help to oppose Bush’s Plan to Bailout Wall Street at
    Taxpayer Expense.

TAKE ACTION BELOW!

  For
years, we have heard the Bush administration tell us how “robust” our economy
was and how strong the “fundamentals” were. That was until a few days ago.
Now, we are being told that if Congress does not act immediately and approve
a $700 billion Wall Street bailout proposal there will be an unprecedented
economic meltdown in the United States and an unraveling of the global economy.

Shockingly, having looked the other way while Wall Street hucksters looted
the economy, the Bush administration now wants American taxpayers (and our
children) to pick up the tab. I say “no way.” But I need your help
to let officials in Washington know that Americans don’t want to be saddled
with the cost of this bailout – a bailout made necessary by the Bush administration's
deregulatory fever and Wall Street's insatiable greed.

Take action for green jobs this Saturday

NOTE: The new location for the day of action is the Fellowship Hall of the Concord Unitarian Universalist Church, at 274 Pleasant St. in Concord, at 11 am on Saturday. As before, we're going to have speakers from groups including the Sierra Club and the New Hampshire Council of Churches, tables and information from some of our partner groups, and an art project for kids to participate in!

Hey folks,
This Friday, the presidential candidates will come together in Mississippi for their first debate, to lay out their platforms in front of a national audience of millions. But while each candidate will claim to have a vision that can protect our country's safety and prosperity, neither of them is going to articulate a strong enough platform on stopping global warming.

The candidates are far behind the American people on this issue. You and I know that global warming is a threat to our health, our security, and our future, and that it's time to implement solutions that will address this crisis while creating good new jobs and pathways out of poverty. But if we're going to make the candidates face up to this reality, we're going to have to make some headlines of our own so that our concerns get heard.

AT&T Whistleblower: Spy Bill Creates 'Infrastructure for a Police State', By
      Ryan Singel, June 27, 2008 | 1:14:59 PM

Mark Klein, the retired AT&T engineer who stepped forward with the technical documents
at the heart of the anti-wiretapping case against AT&T, is furious
at the Senate's vote on Wednesday night to hold a vote on a bill intended to
put an end to that lawsuit and more than 30 others.

Wednesday's vote by Congress effectively gives retroactive immunity to
the telecom companies and endorses an all-powerful president. It’s
a Congressional coup against the Constitution.

The Democratic leadership is touting the deal as a "compromise," but in
fact they have endorsed the infamous Nuremberg defense: "Just following orders." The
judge can only check their paperwork. This cynical deal is a Democratic exercise
    in deceit and cowardice.

The Global Poverty Act

I'm writing on behalf of the Borgen Project- a seattle based non profit organization working to bring political attention to severe poverty. You can learn more about our organization through theborgenproject.org.

As you will see we have created the Global Poverty Act which has passed in the House and now we're trying to pass in the Senate. The way you can help is severly important and takes only thirty seconds to help pass this act.

We need roughly a dozen people (however the more the merrier) in New Hampshire to call Senator Sununu's office at (603) 647- 7500 and simply tell the staffer on the phone: “I’m a Borgen Project supporter and I would like the Senator to cosponsor the Global Poverty Act.” People can also email his office here:

sununu.senate.gov.

If you and your members can make the call or shoot an email it would greatly help the cause. You can see here (sample call log on right) how political offices tally each call and why it’s so important. Thank you so much for your consideration and let me know if I can answer any questions.
Thank you,
