Advocacy 101 Workshop

Thu, 02/24/2005 - 2:00pm

Concord, NH
Subject: WORKSHOP TO BE HELD - "ADVOCACY 101"

While many people want to voice their opinions on legislation and public policy, they are often daunted by how to do so. The terms "Advocacy and Grassroots Lobbying" can be confusing, and can create apprehension that engaging in such will be a complicated process. The purpose of "Advocacy 101" is to demonstrate how easy it is to make a difference by communicating your opinions to decision-makers on things that matter to you.

The outcome of all public policy decisions is primarily dictated by the public will — so long as the public makes their preferences known. No doubt you can remember an important decision or election that was decided by just one vote. Did you ever envision a different result that would have occurred had that one vote gone the other way? Were you ever the person who could have made that happen if you had made your viewpoint known?

This workshop is not a complicated seminar on government. It is instead a "how to" learning opportunity for concerned people in "practical politics" that will empower you to have your voice heard on things that are important to you. Every voter is a lobbyist who can get things done. Find out how much power you personally have to achieve lasting results!
