Democracy for New Hampshire is pleased to announce its first candidate training, which will take place on Friday, February 18th from 5:30-9:30pm in Concord. On the local level, people who run for office take on the role not just of candidate, but also of campaign manager, communications director, volunteer mobilizer... and everything else! DFNH candidate training recognizes this reality and seeks to give candidates the skills and framework they need to mount a winning grassroots campaign.

The training consists of three major components: developing a campaign plan, honing your message, and communicating with voters. The goal is for
candidates to leave with three tangible products: a personalized campaign plan; a press release or literature for mailing; and a phone or door-knocking script. The evening will culminate in a ³Candidate Night²
simulation, where candidates will practice the skills they¹ve learned throughout the evening by giving a brief presentation and responding to questions and answers from an audience of "concerned citizens."

If you are running for selectboard, city council, school board or any local office or if you know of someone else who is - please encourage them to join us on Friday, February 18th for the very first DFNH candidate training.
