Thu, 01/27/2005 - 10:00am

Room 204 Legislative Office Building Concord
There will be a public hearing on HB 136 which would repeal NH's Hate Crimes Law. The hearing is before the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee. Please do your best to attend. NH was among the first states to pass a hate crimes law in 1990, it would be terrible to repeal it. Please encourage eeryone you can to attend the hearing! For a full list of the committee members and the text of the bill go to www.nh.state.us/gencourt. The sponsors are Reps. Bicknell, Itse, Guida and Sen. Boyce all are members of the radical religious right. Make your voice heard!

Could someone here please tell me why we should punish people for their thoughts rather than their actions? Repealing this law would restore equality under law and not prosecute people for alleged prejudices.
