Sisters on the Planet
A recent Global Development Programme report estimates that, already, 300,000 deaths a year are caused byclimate change. Poor communities around the world are disproportionately affected by climate change. It is the women in these communities who are bearing the brunt of it's impacts.

Sisters on the Planet is a film that highlights the stories of four amazing women who are affected by climate change and who are taking action in their communities.

Mike Meldonian, Regional Advocacy Lead for Oxfam America, will screen this short (20min.) film and present on the impacts of climate change on poverty and women and introduce simple ways that attendees can get involved in the Sisters on the Planet project.

Mike and Gail Denemark, NH Regional Coordinator for 1Sky, will discuss ways that we can urge our Senator, Jeanne Shaheen to play a leadership role and become a Sisters on the Planet Ambassador.... particularly at this critical time, with historic climate legislation pending in the senate.

Please join us on Tuesday afternoon - July 28 4:00pm - at the Fell Clubhouse in Amherst, NH for lively discussion, meaningful viewing, and refreshments.
