Protect the Count: NH Sec of State: central tally of election results is "private SoS business" conducted in "nonpublic" rooms

When citizens tried to observe the central tabulation of election results, the NH Secretary of State told them they could not enter the "nonpublic" rooms where the tally was occurring and gave them a "warning" about videotaping events where the central tabulation was taking place.

"Public Servants"

That seems to be a difficult concept for some people. I suppose that our current Secretary of State is too old to educate as to what "public servant" means. Perhaps it's time to retire him.

Inappropriate conduct

Protect the Count publicized very broadly their intent to film the central tabulation in NH. The SOS was well aware of these plans. Their response was to concoct bogus legal interpretations of public records and to set up the count so that it occurred in dispersed "nonpublic" rooms. This is completely hostile and inappropriate behavior and provides an appearance of non-trustworthiness and power abuse. They could have easily set things up to accomodate the constitutionally-mandated citizen oversight. They chose not to.

I also question Gardner's efficacy when clearly it is Scanlan calling the shots and running the show. Last I checked, nobody elected Dave Scanlan.

I hope nobody ever does elect Dave Scanlan Secretary of State. He has demonstrated a horrifying propensity to protect Diebold interests over voting rights.
