Sen. Sgambati - Experience and Common Sense for New Hampshire

People of New Hampshire are known for making informed decisions based on the records of the leaders they vote into office and we value the accessibility we have to our legislators more than many other states. Sen. Kathy Sgambati has a long history of both. She truly exemplifies this New Hampshire tradition.

I have had the opportunity to work with Kathy when she held the office of Deputy Commissioner of DHHS under Commissioner Morton. I was awed by Kathy’s dedication and tireless work with the Child Health Insurance Program (CHIP) so that uninsured children of this state would have coverage. This legislation is a model for other states around the country today. As government officials were talking, Kathy would be found working behind the scenes drafting innovative measures to meet different agendas in order to get important legislation past. As Deputy Commissioner for DHHS, which is the largest Department in our state and serves the most vulnerable populations, Kathy has full knowledge of New Hampshire’s needs and a capacity for completing the job under real fiscal constraints. Her inherent common sense, determination and knowledge of people and state government has afforded her the opportunity to serve her constituents efficiently with the utmost honesty and integrity.

Moreover, I feel honored to have worked with Kathy who has always made herself available to listen to new ideas and suggestions from the people she serves. Recently she was awarded the Dr. Nathan Davis Award for Outstanding Government Service, the highest honor given to public officials. Her success in working with public-private partnerships to solve the state’s complex problems is nationally recognized. This underscores her exceptional contributions to New Hampshire’s Public Health initiatives. Her priorities are in the right place and people of this state are very fortunate to have her as our leader. Vote for Senator Sgambati on Tuesday. New Hampshire needs this kind of leadership.
