"fundamentally strong" = fundamentally wrong

A new Video ad from the Obama campaign hits the mark. For those whose computers don't play video nicely: eco101.jpg
BO V/O: I’m Barack Obama and I approve this message.

V/O: John McCain admits he doesn’t understand the economy

So who advises him?

Carly Fiorina, the fired CEO who got a $42 million golden parachute.

Phil Gramm, the ex-Senator who pushed through deregulation, and called Americans hurt by this economy "whiners."

Then there’s George Bush, whose disastrous policies McCain wants to continue.

They think the economy is fundamentally strong.

We know they’re fundamentally wrong
.

I'm not sure that hanging everything on George Bush continues to be useful. Gramm and McCain did their damage long before George arrived in the Oval Office.

That he didn't recognize a disaster in the making is unfortunate but, as in so much else, the advice he got was deceptive.

"fundamentally wrong" is a phrase that's sure to be displeasing to a fundamentalist ear. Pure genius!
