Connecticut audit of NH voting machine vendor: 30% submitted reports unusable for auditNOTE: In 2006 the State of NH unconditionally approved Diebold's election technology even after the Diebold representative, LHS Associates President John Silvestro, had testified about 16 critical defects. The NH Department of State, Attorney General, and Legislature have all rebuffed citizen demands and requests for public oversight of this private corporation that controls the count -- using secret, proprietary vote counting software -- for 84% of NH ballots. The State of NH has given away our public elections to LHS Associates and Diebold Corporation with absolutely no public oversight or checks and balances, and with absolutely no internal or external controls to detect, prevent, identify, or prosecute fraud or failure of this product, which the company itself has -- under duress -- in multiple public statements admitted is "error-prone" at best. Numerous scientific reports have revealed that the product is highly susceptible to, and even designed for, fraud and tampering. For a state that claims primacy in the most important electoral contest in the nation, this is, to put it kindly, extremely irresponsible. In fact, there is enough evidence to contend that it is just might be illegal. SOURCE:Black Box Voting Breaking News Sept. 8 10am: NEW
ENGLAND - Voting machines in Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont
and Maine are programmed by a single firm, LHS Associates. Connecticut report of Feb. 2008 audit results is MISSING, Univ. Connecticut discovered unchecked "duplicate memory cards" but has been unable to examine all of them, 30% of 2007 audit data missing or unusable. And the other four LHS-programmed states aren't even checking any of this. See NH's likely-illegal approval of Diebold's defective voting technology:
