Speak Back to the SpeakerMon, 08/04/2008 - 3:45pm Kennedy Library, Campridge, MA Please assemble at 4:45 There is an action at the Kennedy Library in Boston where Speaker Nancy Pelosi is talking about her forthcoming autobiography. She is speaking at 5:30 until 7:00. Her talk is sold out. We are asking people to gather at the library and protest her continued funding of the war, her refusal to consider either the impeachment of Cheney or Bush, her caving in on FISA and —well you name it. We were told by Security at the Library that the Boston Police have jurisdiction there even though it is federal property. We have the right to protest but they will put up barriers and confine the protesters to one area. Of course, if there are a lot of protesters, that will have to be a pretty big area. The offices of the Boston Globe are very nearby, so we hope to get media attention. There is a parking lot by the library but that will fill up fast. When the library holds an event, they have an agreement with University of MASS whose campus the library is on to open additional parking lots. However, since protesters probably won't be able to get their parking tickets stamped inside the library, it will cost $ to park there. Mass transport and car pools are encouraged. This action is being co-sponsored by the Greater Boston Coalition to Stop the War and the RI Mobilization Committee to Stop War and Occupation in Iraq and Afghanistan.
