SOURCE: politickernh.com
By Brian Lawson U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley) is distributing money through his federal political action committee to support national and New Hampshire Republicans running for office. According to FEC filings, Sununu's Daniel Webster PAC, has distributed $7,750 to New Hampshire Republican candidates and over $30,500 to Republicans running for the U.S. Senate. Sununu's largest donation was to embattled U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska). The PAC gave the Stevens for Senate Committee $7,500. Among New Hampshire Republicans, Sununu gave money to state Sen. Robert Letourneau (R-Derry), state Sen. Mike Downing (R-Salem) and Executive Council candidates Stephen Stepanek (R-Amherst), Russell Prescott (R-Kingston) and Ray Wieczorek (R-Manchester). Sununu also gave money to Republican committees including the Cheshire County Republicans, Derry Republican Committee, Seacoast Republican Committee, Salem Republican Town Committee and the New Hampshire Reagan Network. Sununu's PAC has also raised $45,500 over the past three months. He has received money from groups such as the American Hospital Association, Clear Channel Communications, Metlife, Home Depot, Union Pacific, Mortgage Bankers Association of America and the National Thoroughbred Racing Association. Every fiscal quarter, federal PACs are required to report their numbers to the Federal Election Committee. Independent groups and politicians use PACs to spend money independent from their campaign. |
