Democrats please explain
There is quite a bit I need clarification on regarding the candidate John Kerry. I have watched all the speeches and appearances, listened to everyone's side, and I am becoming concerned about some of the things which appear to be between the lines. The following is in reference to the various things I have heard while following John Kerry
Government spending - I am hearing there will be increased spending in military, government run healthcare plan for all uninsured, higher education spending. All this without having to raise taxes for the middle class. The total of these various plans would be in the trillions of dollars an I don't believe there will be no increse to my taxes, or the taxes I pay on specific items as a way to recoup the money needed for big government plans. Jobs - I have heard Kerry indicate he is against outsourcing, blaming Bush for all the jobs shipped overseas. I have also heard reports the Heinz Corporation outsources about 75% of it's workforce. How many jobs does that total for the American population, and why hasn't he spoken on this topic before the public starts to question him. Economy - I have heard nothing but negative comments regarding the state of our economy, yet, Greenspan just raised interest rates by 1/4 because he stated the economy continues to grow and it is to avoid the possibility of inflation. I also heard reports the jobs created were in fact higher paying jobs and the accusation they were only lower paying without insurance does not support the actual findings on this topic. I also heard the number of uninsured included a large number of people who can monitarily pay for the coverage, yet they chose not to insure themselves. Generally the 20'something crowd. Faith - If John Kerry's campaign is really directed by faith, then why does he not support the faith base programs Bush has put in place? I also have not heard him speak of his personal experience of being born again, or any personal relationship with Christ or the God. He speaks on very general terms, and his position on very hot topics opposes that of a true believer. For example, his position on gay marriage, and partial-birth abortion. A true believer would never sway with thier belief struchture for the sake of a campaign, they would stay true to the core of the religion. I also don't hear Kerry openly discuss his looking to God for big decisions, or starting his day with the Bible. I fear there is no real belief in Kerry and I may be voting for a real unbeliever, or one that claims to believe yet doesn't honor the Word of God. Postion regarding the UN - I have seen so many instances where the UN has failed to direct this world, or stand up when there are true atrocities being played out in various Countries. Then we have the oil-for-food scandal and the billions stolen from all those that really needed and deserved the money and supplies. We saw them lie to our administration during the months prior to the Iraq war, and now they are stonewalling the US in an attempt to "tame" the world's superpower. I hear Kerry always talk about the importance of the UN, yet I don't see where they respect America for who we are, and are trying to sway our hand for their own good. I don't see where standing with some of those Countries that are currently against us are actually going to lead to a safe US for us. Who were those international leaders Kerry indicated supported him for President - and are they by any chance those Countries now opposing us in the UN? Is Kerry so sure he can get those Countries to come around because they are purposesly opposing us to make Bush look bad in an effort to get Kerry elected? Is there some plan like this in the works? I don't see Kerry answering why he is so sure things will be different if he were in the White Hosue - he just asks sure, like there are facts he is not sharing. These things make me feel uncomfortable. And will he sell out Israel as part of some agreement with the UN to support us in Iraq? Is this why Kerry is not concerned about insulting and degrading the various world leaders that are supporting us in Iraq? If he feels the Iraq Prime Minister is only a puppet of Bush, what does he plan to do if he is elected? Will he replace this man, or will he apologize and try and repair the burnt bridges he has created with all these insults to the Countries (aside from France, Germany, Russia). Maybe he isn't worried because my fears of him standing along side the UN with their desired direction in the world, so he doesn't need to worry about "those little Countries". Troops - I always hear all the negative about how the war is going in Iraq, yet I see a few reports (media doesn't seem to like to spotlight the good aspects) of schools rebuilt, infrastructure replaced, local elections for local officials taking place, hospitals repaired, oil flowing (when the enemy doesn't sabotage). I truly believe the increase in the violence is for the same reason is happened in Spain. To sway American voters. Kerry said just last week on David Letterman - as of today, if he were Preseident - "NO" he would not be in Iraq. Seems reasonable to think they want to try and make Bush look bad so they don't get the democratic country that won't suit their terror needs. I also think it is degrading to never highlight any success of our troops. If you want to be Commander in Chief, you need to show support for the efforts of your military, and give them credit where credit is due. I do not see him doing this, and he could very well be lowering the moral of our troops with all his negative talk in speeches; and to what cost - is it worth the risk he is taking? First Lady - I am very worried about Teresa's free words. She has insulted potential voters with some of her comments; calling people that don't agree with Kerry idiots is not the way to win the undecided. Telling hurrican victims their children should run around naked does not show compassion; telling the media to shove it does not promote free speech in America. I am afraid her free-flowing tongue may insult other world leaders if she were to become First Lady. I don't think she has what it takes to play that role for the US and she could cause divisions around the world with her insulting nature. Yes, the First Lady is a consideration for thoughtful voters in America. Dirty tricks - I am very bothered by the reports that Kerry actually tried to stop the printing of the book, "Unfit For Command". Regardless of what he felt about it's contents, as candidate for President, trying to remove the free speech of those opposing you leads me to worry about if I oppose him if he is President. The attempts of Democrats to remove Nader from all those states also concerns me because it again is taking away a right of the American because they fear any opposition. If you are strong in your position, you should not have to stifle the rights of the citizens to win. I still don't know what to think of the CBS incident. If Kerry was making such a big deal of Bush being behind the Swiftboat stuff; to find out there were actual telephone calls between CBS, the source, the Kerry camp - it's just too stinky not to think something was up. Then we have the ads and attacks that were all prepared and ready to go the following day; and the various comments about the "upcoming bombshell" the weeks prior to the show airing. I just don't know what to think of this entire thing. In regards to the history of each candidate. I saw a breakdown of Bush's hours given to the Guard for the 6 years. The requirement was 50 hours per year. The first four years he clocked hundreds of hours more than required. Then the last two years he clocked 56 hours, reaching and exceding the requirement. The last year, the hours were done in the first part, so when he asked to be released early to attend college, he received the honorable discharge. With Kerry it concerns me someone would take video cameras with them to combat if they were not media. It also concerns me that someone with minor wounds would opt to leave their follow soldiers because there was a loop hole allowing this. Then to come back and play video of a town being razed, and openly admit to actually commiting war atrocities - aren't the soldiers in Iraq going to jail for that? When I studied up and found out about the meetings with the enemy, and how his picture is displayed as one of their heros - this really concerned me. What core would someone have to have to actually commit those types of things in such a short tour of duty? I know who I am inside and I know what I simply would not be able to bring myself to commit. And didn't he also have a responsibility to report those he saw breaking laws around him? The levels of command in Iraq are being held responsible for what happened at that prision. He even said he felt it would be advantageous to him to be for and against the war (this was 35 years ago). I am seriously worried about these various discrepancies. Anyone else, and who can actually address these concerns. Without attacking me please, I am really trying to make an informed decision. I intend to get answers from the Republicans on other issues of concern. I want to feel safe though, and know that the candidate is not hiding things he has in store and my gut feeling is there is more to John Kerry than he is admitting to us.
