Campaign for Ratepayers Rights (CRR) Celebrates 25 Years of Defending New Hampshire ConsumersWed, 11/14/2007 - 5:45pm NH Audubon Society, 3 Silk Farm Road, Concord NH 03301 Concord, November 1, 2007 – The Campaign for Ratepayers Rights (CRR), a statewide organization advocating on behalf of utility customers and educating the public on energy issues, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this month. To recognize this milestone, CRR is hosting an anniversary gala on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at the NH Audubon Society in Concord. DOUG FOY, former President of the Conservation Law Foundation and former Secretary of Commonwealth Development for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, will be the keynote speaker for the evening. At the anniversary gala, CRR will also recognize several citizen activists who have made significant contributions to New Hampshire energy policy and to CRR. Former State Senator JIM RUBENS of Hanover will be recognized for his years of advocating for New Hampshire citizens on energy and environmental issues, especially for his work on initiatives to combat global warming, including the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative and the recently enacted NH Renewable Energy Act. --MORE-- Former State Representative and Granite State Conservation Voters board member AMANDA MERRILL of Durham, and SANDRA GAVUTIS, Executive Director of the C-10 Research & Education Foundation, will be recognized for their longtime service to the CRR cause of promoting responsible energy policies. State Rep. BARBARA FRENCH of Henniker will be honored for her work with the Campaign for Ratepayers Rights as a volunteer and member of the board of directors. CRR President and longtime New Hampshire environmental advocate Atty. BOB BACKUS of Manchester will be the master of ceremonies for the evening. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at the NH Audubon Society at 3 Silk Farm Road in Concord. The cocktail hour will begin at 5:45pm, and the keynote speech and awards program will begin at 6:45pm. RSVP is requested.
