Sununu Gets Failing Report Card from Iraq Summer
John Sununu will be presented a report card on his Iraq votes through a press event Friday at 11 a.m. in Concord at the Lobby of the Legislative Office Building.
The grades are in on the first semester of Iraq Summer, and John Sununu has not done well. He voted against cloture, obstructing an up-or-down vote in the Senate on the Levin-Reed amendment to this year’s defense authorization bill. The amendment calls for withdrawing all troops by March 31, 2008. Sununu voted the same way for a bill that would have brought the troops home by July 1 of this year. He voted against bringing them home by the end of 2006. And he voted for giving the Bush Administration whatever money it wanted, without details on what that money bought. More than 70 percent of the American public is calling for the withdrawal of nearly all troops from Iraq by April. A recent New Hampshire poll had 65 percent of New Hampshire citizens calling for withdrawal. John Sununu has voted against his constituents’ wishes time after time. This event will underscore how out of touch Sununu really is with New Hampshire voters. WHO: Concerned New Hampshire Citizens WHAT: Senator Sununu’s failing grades on bringing the troops home WHEN: Friday, July 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. WHERE: Lobby of the Legislative Office Building For more information, call Jennie at 202.425.0911.
