From Jerry:

The State of New Hampshire’s budget, HB 1, is currently before the House Finance Committee. Instead of a holding one day-long hearing in Concord, the House Finance Committee has scheduled five hearings on the budget across the state so that citizens, advocates, professionals, community leaders and organization representatives can appear before the committee to comment on and ask questions about the budget.

If you breathe the air, drink the water, drive on a road, go to school, or enjoy the scenery, the budget affects the quality of your life. If you are in a nursing home or are cared for at home, the budget has a lot to do with the quality and the quantity of the services you receive. If you are an employee or an employer, what happens in the budget affects your business and your income. If you are a state retiree, your pension and your health care is affected. If you file a will, buy a house, enter into a marriage or a divorce, the budget has something to say about that. The budget affects all of us – make sure you have your say.

Please join the House Finance Committee at its North Country hearing on March 15th. The hearing will take place at the White Mountain Regional High School Auditorium at 127 Regional Rd, Whitefield, from 4:00-7:00pm
