NHIOP Distinguished Scholar Dr. Michael Zuckert: American ConstitutionalismThu, 03/15/2007 - 8:00pm NHIOP Auditorium Dr. Michael Zuckert, "From Hamilton to Hamdan: the Challenge of Constitutional Liberty in the 21st Century" Contact: nhiop@anselm.edu March 15, 2007 Time: 7:00 p.m. NHIOP Distinguished Scholar Dr. Michael Zuckert's talk will consider the tradition of American constitutionalism as it bears on the question of extraordinary threats and extraordinary uses of power. Zuckert is a professor in the political science department at the University of Notre Dame. He works in political philosophy, American constitutional law and theory, and American political thought. He has published Natural Rights and the New Republicanism and The Natural Rights Republic, which was named an outstanding book for 1997 by Choice magazine. His most recent book, co-authored with Catherine Zuckert, is The Truth about Leo Strauss: Political Philosophy and American Democracy. This lecture will be held in the NHIOP Auditorium, is free, and is open to the public. |
