Democratic State Committee Headquarters
The filing period for Democrats wishing to run for New Hampshire
Democratic Party offices opens Monday, December 11 and remains open
until 5 p.m. on January 15, 2007.

Any registered New Hampshire Democrat is eligible to run for Party
office and must file their intention to seek office by mail,
facsimile, or in person at Democratic State Committee Headquarters:
2 1/2 Beacon Street, Concord, NH 03301.

Officers are elected by the NH Democratic Party State Committee. The
committee will gather Saturday, March 24, 2007 to elect the party
chair, first and second vice chairs, secretary, treasurer, and legal
counsel. The meeting will be at the Institute of Politics at St.
Anselm College, St. Anselm Drive in Manchester at 10:30 a.m.

State Committee is made up of:

a. The Officers of the New Hampshire Democratic Party;
b. The State Chairs and Vice Chairs who have served during the past 20 years who are members of the Democratic Party;
c. Five persons appointed by the State Chair, who will be full voting members of the State Committee but will have no vote in the election of the State Chair;
d. The vice chair of the Financial Committee and the chairs of no more than four additional Committees established under Chapter 3, Section F, Subsection 4;
e. Current National Committee Members, any additional National Democratic Committee appointees and all Democratic National Committee Members who have served during the past 20 years who are members of the Democratic Party;
f. Two members designated by each of those persons currently holding the offices of President of the United States, Governor, U.S. Senator, and U.S. Representative, who are members of the Democratic Party of New Hampshire;
g. The Party's most recent official nominees for and former incumbents of the offices of President of the United States, Governor, U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative, or their designees, who are members of the New Hampshire Democratic Party;
h. The Party's most recent official nominees for the Executive Council or former incumbents who have served during the past 20 years and who are members of the Democratic Party;
i. The Democratic Leader of the NH House of Representatives and Democratic Leader of the NH Senate;
j. Twenty members of the Democratic Caucus of the NH House of Representatives;
k. Five members of the Democratic Caucus of the NH Senate
l. All Persons elected to County Government positions who are members of the Democratic Party of New Hampshire;
m. The Officers of the County Committees elected according to Chapter 6, Section D, Subsection 1;
n. Members elected by each County Committee according to ratios established pursuant to the most recent presidential election as described in Chapter 6, Section C, Subsection 1, Paragraph b;
o. The Officers of the New Hampshire Young Democrats as duly elected according to the procedures prescribed by the Young Democrats of America.
p. When a state of New Hampshire elected official holds a position on the State Committee and is also a county, regional, town or city Democratic committee officer, the State Committee shall declare a vacancy in said county, regional, town or city seat or seats on the State Committee, and an individual who holds no State of New Hampshire elected position shall be elected in the respective county, regional, town or city committee to the State Committee seat. This section does not prohibit a State of New Hampshire elected official or NHDP State Executive Committee officer from continuing to hold a county, regional, town or city Democratic Party position.
