Women Making a Difference "Confronting the Issues" Film Series
Sunday - 4:30pm - Wilton Town Hall Theater - Nov. 19 - last one in series!

Women Making a Difference will conclude the popular film series, "Confronting the Issues" with the November 19 showing of "End of Suburbia" . The film points out the need of working together in our communities with ideas of sustainability from the effects of global warming and reaching peak oil status. Discussion will immediately follow the film. Film and discussion are free and open to the public. Donations are welcome to help defray costs.

Many people from the area will be on hand to discuss what area towns are doing with innovative ideas beyond just changing light bulbs: Karin Largo, Milford Do-It Committee Chairman; Bruce and Barbara Kantner from Derbyshire Farm; Shelly Hulbert from Peterborough co-housing project; Catherine Corkery from NH Sierra Club in Concord will be present, as well as Laura Kahn, director of an organization called Working Villages International which focuses on building peace through sustainable development. Their current project is building a village in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Amy Antonucci, of Madbury will present ideas from the UNH permaculture course she has been working with to provide design models. Rounding out those participating will be Dr. Rebecca Martusewicz Professor from University of Michigan and sustainability consultant to Souhegan High School.
