Alexander Gallichon , State House of Representatives (Hillsborough 26)
Alexander Gallichon was born in Norwich, Connecticut. His family moved to
New Hampshire the very day Connecticut introduced a 'temporary' income tax, so that his father could manage a Manchester-based business. Mr. Gallichon was educated in Nashua public schools, and served two terms as a student senator at Nashua High School South. After leaving Nashua High School, he started a small consultancy business and enrolled in undergraduate studies at Harvard University. Alexander Gallichon is committed to public service and believes that it is the duty of every citizen to participate in democratic government. This is his first run for the state legislature. Platform I'm running on the issues that reflect the longer term goals I mentioned in response to the previous question. (1) Defining an adequate education and determining how to fund, in a way that is fair for the towns, the taxpayers, and New Hampshire students. (2) Fighting to ensure all of New Hampshire's residents have access to affordable healthcare. (3) Investing in New Hampshire's future by making it more business friendly. 3. Please describe what socially progressive means to you and give examples that demonstrate that you are socially progressive. Social progressivism to me means rooting out the bigotry and discrimination that remains in our society as it exists in statute and policy forms. It means defending our civil liberties, protecting our personal lives from unnecessary governmental intrusion, and ensuring everyone is treated equally before the law. Essentially social progressivism means creating an environment that tolerates and fosters social pluralism where it doesn't exist, and defending that tolerant environment where it does.
