No Voter Fraud--A.G.
BREAKING NEWS: Attorney General's Office Issues Results of Voter Fraud Investigation-Report concludes that elections in New Hampshire are "well-run" and "clean".
From the AG's report: New Hampshire has a long and proud tradition of conducting well-run and clean elections. The results of our investigation reflect that there are very few instances of wrongful voting in New Hampshire, the overwhelming majority of which involve people who had a right to vote somewhere in New Hampshire. New Hampshire's local election officials are the front line of our defense against voting fraud and our investigations support the conclusion that most local officials do an excellent job. This exhaustive report should answer once and for all answer any questions regarding the integrity of New Hampshire's voting systems. It is a shame that our state had to spend so many resources to conclude that our current laws already guarantee fair and accurate voting. But maybe now the legislature can stop wasting time on unnecessary voter ID laws that might decrease turnout, and instead focus on important issues like healthcare and jobs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This from the New Hampshire Democratic Party. Unless the nhdp has suddenly discovered an ironic streak, somebody seems to be missing the point. There was never any question in the minds of reasonable people that New Hampshire voters don't commit fraud and that our election officials are top notch. It's the "voting systems," especially the electronic kind, that are vulnerable to corruption by outside interests who do not have the welfare of our citizens in mind. Handing the programming and maintenance of our electronic equipment to private contractors whose work cannot be checked is a bad idea. Just the idea that a ten percent failure rate is considered normal should be enough to give anyone pause. What would happen if the bank recorded every ten dollar deposit as only nine? Would we put up with that? By monica smith at 04/07/2006 - 07:15 | Fair elections | monica smith's blog | login or register to post comments
