Small Business & Healthcare: "Striving for Solutions"
A Breakfast Forum
Tuesday, May 3rd, 8-10am
Christ Church, 43 Pine Street, Exeter

Small Businesses are significantly affected by increasing pressures on the employer-based insurance system of coverage and the erosion of public programs. How is the safety net handling the uninsured and the underinsured? What is happening in the legislature this spring? How is the Dirigo plan in Maine working? What are emerging options for the small business community?

A panel comprised of safety net providers from Lamprey Health Care and Exeter Hospital, Senator Maggie Hassan, a represenative from Maine's Dirigo Health Agency, and Kathy Crompton from SeaCare Health Services will open the discussion. Stories from small business people in the community will be shared.

In addition, Exeter Hospital's Mobile Medical Van will be on hand, offering free health screens and healthcare information.

Cover The Uninsured Week is a national education and action effort initiated by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and co-chaired by former US Presidents Ford and Carter. Many diverse partnerships of individuals and orgnanizations will mark this week with hundreds of events aimed at focusing community and national attention on underinsurance and uninsurance.
